WATCH OUT !!!!!!

Well... I took my motorcycle course on Saturday and Sunday. I got a 92 on the written test-needed an 80. ok. Did the ride stuff. Did figure 8's, swerving, riding over debri-4x4's, stopping in curves, fast stops, tight turns, switching lanes, criss-crosses... I did a lot of that today in the pouring rain-not fun. I even saw the results of a fatal accident on the way to class-body bag... I asked about fail rates-15%. There were 11 of us in the class. Where is this leading you ask???

I PASSED AND WILL RECIEVE MY LICENSE IN THE MAIL IN 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sooooooooo. Please watch out for the next few years or so. Rick and I took a ride around the neighborhood. I felt like I was flying at 30 mph. We didin't leave the 'hood-no registeration yet. Rick will do that this week along with the Harley and the Jet Ski. It will be a while before I feel safe enough to take it the 15 miles to work down rts 28 & 151. But I will practice when I can. As you know, Rick is having the surgery on Thursday, so I will be busy with him. Just as long as I'm healthy so I can take care of him. He has always great care of me when I've had my many surgerys. Maybe I'll even take the Harley for a spin so it won't feel neglected. Can you see Rick hopping down the street with a crutch in one hand and a pain pill the the other??? He'll get his PT then.

AND...

I FORGOT-RICK AND I DID NOT SCREAM, SWEAR, MAKE FACES, OR WANT TO LEAVE EACH OTHER OVER THIS SHORT, BUT IMPORTANT, LESSON. COULD I BE GROWING UP??? CAN HE BE GROWING UP???? THE ANSWER TO FOLLOW. NO MORE BIKERSONS HERE.

I DID IT

TODAY IS THE DAY BEFORE THE CLASS. I READ A JOURNAL OF A FEMALE BIKER NEWBIE AND SHE SCARED ME. SHE HAD RIDDEN BEFORE TAKING THE COURSE AND STILL FAILED. I HAVEN'T EVER DRIVEN A BIKE. SO I TOLD RICK I WOULD TRY TODAY-AND I DID. I GOT INTO FIRST, THEN SECOND GEAR. I USED THE DIRECTIONALS, BEEPED THE HORN, STOPPED THE BIKE PROPERLY(SECOND TRY!), AND DROVE AROUND THE BLOCK ABOUT 6 TIMES. IT WAS EXHILERATING. I'M SO GLAD I DID IT-TOMORROW WON'T BE AS SCARY. RICK EVEN SAID I DID GREAT- BETTER THAN HE EXPECTED. I EVEN PUT MY FEET ON THE PEGS. NO CRASHES, FALLS, OR RUINED LAWNS. AB STILL THINKS I'M CRAZY. SHE WAS OUTSIDE W/ THE PORTABLE PHONE TO CALL 911-PER RICK... HE'S NERVOUS ABOUT BOTH OF US BEING LAID UP AT THE SAME TIME. IF YOU'RE ON CAPE ROADS, WATCH OUT. I'M THE ONE IN THE CANDY APPLE RED HELMUT....

ON FRIDAY

FRIDAY I GET THE BIKE- THE SAVAGE. RICK STILL KEEPS TRYING TO SCARE ME BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY ISSUES. MY ANSWER IS ALWAYS THAT I'LL WEAR BRIGHT CLOTHES. I HAVE A RED HELMUT AND AN ORANGE JACKET. PURPLE PANTS AND I'LL BE READY FOR THE COVER OF BIKER CHICK MONTHLY.(????) THE SALESMAN SAID THAT HE IS NEW ON THE JOB-I AM NOT HIS FIRST SALE, BUT THE OLDEST... HE'S SWEET, BUT I WONDER ABOUT THAT COMMISION. I HOPE TO GET MY LICENSE ON SUNDAY AND THEN RIDE AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD A BIT. IT STILL WON'T BE REGISTERED,. RICK CAN DO THAT BEFORE HIS OPERATION-HE HAS MON,TUES, AND WED OFF. HIS SURGERY IS 4/28. HE'LL BE IN THE HOSPITAL UNTIL SUN OR MON. THEN IT WILL BE A WORKING VACATION FOR ME. I MAY MISS WORK-AT LEAST THERE I GET PAID.

i've entered now

i have finally entered the 21st century. i have created a blog!!! what'sext? a midlife crisis. oh yeah!!! i am in one. i just bought a motorcycle- yes fat chick on a bike. but i am not a chick anymore---was i ever??? i got myself a 2003 suziki savage. it's not american like most of my other items, but harleyss are too high for my short legs. my husband just got the hd-2000 883 sportster. i am taking the class this weekend and will get my license if i pass. then it's either on to the open road, or open fracture... we shall see. next is the skydiving. note to self: must remember to get better life insurance!!! then i wonder what i'll dream up to do when im falling asleep- that is when i get my better idea's---depending on who i'm talking to. rick and abby-husband and 13 year old child-think that i am crazy. my co-workers an patients think i'm ill. ab's friends think i'm cool. i always did want to be cool to the kids.. myy friends go between crazy and cool. but iv'e FINALLY learnt in my mid forty's that it only matters what i think. i wish i knew that years ago. the ages of 40 and above are the BOMB!!!
